I just planted all 3 and the distances are 90 cm from each other...

I don't have the best soil and drainage but I tried hard to amend the soil with compost and gypsum ...

Another thing is I thing the palms might get 1-2 hour sun during the day and then shade...I hope they can cope with that as I didn't install any shade cloth ?

Really nice! I think most of the palms on your list should be fine on Sydney. I'd make sure to protect Latania loddigesii, Carpoxylon macrospermum, and Hyophorbe lagenicaulis, though.

Looks like it's growing very well. Looking very healthy. The trouble with them when they eventually get big, there fronds are so heavy when they drop they can damage plants planted underneath.

Hi MohSen,

The Hyophorbe lagenicaulis will grow if you put it up against a protected Noth facing wall in full sun, preferably near water. They are growing in the RSBG and mine is seeding this year, took 22 years though. 100 k's south of Sydney on the coast

Hi Mohsen.

I planted one about 2 months ago. It's in filtered light and is happy so far. I will see how it goes through winter. It was outside last winter in my shade house and did get a few marks on the leaves. I hadn't noticed any colour in new fronds so far.

I think that it will grow well until the roots fill the rock space then it will slow right down and eventually blow over in a storm.

Unless it can find some good cracks in the rock. :-(

or if you are lucky you may end up with a nice bonsai. :-)

My guess is your right

the only fact I think might bring some hope is that I cut down big stablished thick trees there before ( don't know their name ) maybe if they could get that big this majestic palm can do too?
