Dang!!! It has been a quick minute since I have updated this thread. I have planted a ton of great plants and rare palms since my last posts.  Not to mention the growth I have had this year has been pretty decent at the Fairview nursery gardens.

I have also been a busy beaver building the Fairview rock garden. Since this gardens inception it has taken a lot of my time away from planting in the palm garden. This new garden is a total labor of love. enjoy the visuals :)

Good luck with those great looking Aloe pillansii! They are a real challenge to keep alive. That Ravenea xerophila is looking good too!

Truly spectacular Josh. I’ve been a slacker about getting down there but want to make a point of it very soon. I have got to see this in person. And of course pick up a goodie or two.

Nice use of that rocky exposed hill Josh.  You may someday need to get helicoptered down to weed in the area though. :floor2:  I'm sure that the Aloidendron pillansii will appreciate the reflected heat of those boulders up top that they are planted below.

Pictures really don’t do your garden justice. My palm senses get overwhelmed when I’m there. Everything is a gem. If you aren’t looking up, down and sideways you’ll miss something wild.

Wow just wow Josh

First time seeing this thread and started from page 1 last night. What a transformation from dirt lot to palm museum. I dont have many reasons to go back to Cali but one day i will be back to see your garden and nursery. Most likely will have to rent a U-haul to bring palms back haha. Amazing work and vision !!!

I love the Agave, Aloe and Cycad rock garden!  I wish I had some boulders like that here, but unfortunately all we have is sand and muck!

Forget the muck, I've only sand. :(

Josh's place is a California paradise.

Maybe you can build some raised planter beds?

I built one big 4" raised bed in the backyard, and built it up with 75% sand and 25% topsoil mix.  I have about 50 agaves types in the ground, the only ones i have had problems with are a Nickelsiae, a Rum Runner and one called Durango Fandango.  Everything else does pretty well here, just everything is dead flat and boulders cost a lot per ton!!
