I was also planted this medemia argun the other day.

It took me a couple years of searching high and low to find one. this palm is considered very rare and very hard to find and I' was excited to get this little guy in the ground. the previous seedlings I had a couple years ago all died :( I did not shift them into deep pots since they have such a long tap root and all declined and died. Lesson learned...!!!

enjoy the pictures :)

any one else growing this tree?

Ok, I decided I need to come up with an official garden name for my " up and coming Vista garden". Since I have been planting this last 2 years it's becoming quite the botanical wonderland here in Vista California, USA.

I thought it wold be fun to see what names you palm friends can come up with. I'm wide open to suggestions.

since I'm up on a hill with a great view I thought of "Fair View garden"

any other suggestions?

whoa!

that sounds great :)

It seems like most folks have their gardens named after a region or a palm?? I'm still racking my brain on a good solid name.

there will be a 2 acre nursery attached to this garden as well.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

To add to this due to the topography changes I may suggest "Fairview Valley Gardens" ?

Or maybe even "Secret Rock Gardens" .. ^_^ for the special area... and of course, everyone will want to know where the secret rock is..

besides racking my brain for a good garden nursery name I've been busy working on leveling and filling the planters with dirt. this mini project has turned into a major production.

I have slowed way down on planting stuff in the ground because of this head ache of a project.
