redant 1,043 Report post Posted August 5, 2015 Several trays of teddy bear palms (IDK which one) for free. They will be going into the compost pile soon if nobody wants them. Local pick up only, no shipping. about 24 or 36 seedling that really need to be potted up.

redant 1,043 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Did you find a home for the teddies yet? Gorilla planted a bunch around the hood as well as adding to the mulch pile. I do have lots potted up into some bigger pots if you want a couple. I have found these rather difficult palms to nursery grow, they grow but never look that great. In the ground they seem to struggle for a while before finally doing well. In my experience they seem to like pine mulch.
rick 89 Report post Posted August 17, 2015 Ah thats ok. I didn't exactly have the space for them but I just hate to see good palms get tossed. I still have the 2 that I got from you awhile back. They are growing great in 3 gal now. Ive found that they seem to like a lot of fertilizer and additional iron otherwise they look yellow.
DoomsDave 8,506 Report post Posted September 8, 2015 How about some pictures? It will be good to see which ones they are. Are they lastelliana or leptocheilos?

DoomsDave 8,506 Report post Posted September 9, 2015 There's two teddies? I've heard both lastelliana and leptocheilos called "teddy bear" and "redneck" palm. Lasties are much bigger, and faster, but they need the tropics. They are great in Hawaii. Leptos are better for California.
