Dear KamiPalms  :)

thanks man,iam very glad you took time to added your tips &

trick for a better germination..

and hope more guys like you will join this thread to help all

who are not proffesionals in this field.

and kami i must say even i boil the medium before using it,

but i did not mention it,since some may overdo it.and hurt themselves in this process.and if you see my baggie bags

they have given moisture, watch it closely you will see that  :)

Even i rarely use chemical, since the air is freash and hot, except in winters which is a small period of 1 & half

months only(usually our rainy season is considered

cooler months  :D

Thanks a lot kami,

Kris  :)

now gently try to spread it out,if not possible.don't worry

just put the entire mass minus the plastic bag into a

bucket of water(kindly use water of room temperature,

and also refrain from using fungicide or any root trainers

to these young sprouts)_

Now after placing the young once in the container and also

filling gently with the soil shown in previous still.

and start watering the containers with a tea kettle or any

specilised watering tools that you have.but check that all

air locks and spaces gets filled with the soil inside the bottle,

this can be easily done since out bottles are see through !

i know you want to ask now is what to do with the medium

in this case its Sphyngum moss_Damp off ! and all those

non germinated seeds that are in the medium or in the

bucket of water that we used to seperate the sprouts.

all you need to do is take that need baggie cover and refill

the medium with along the non germinated seeds.and

kindly write as to what seeds are they.todays date and number of seeds that are once again reused in this

baggie.and once again keep this pouch in that very same

location in that warm dark room or germinating tray or bed.

and wait...in my future still i will show how even those reused seeds have also germinated.so never throw them

or take them lightly.all they need is some time.

Well done Kris!

One pointer I would suggest is to completely remove the Coir from the seedling roots before potting on ( post # 56).

I've found if too much is left, the young root zone stays too wet and you know what this can cause.........

Dear Jason  :)

in post 57 the medium attached to the roots are sphangum

moss_damp-off ! from U.S.and after even dipping in the

bucket of water that material kept sticking.so i felt their is

no need to stress those babies any further..

but iam very happy about your suggestion on my work.iam a

person who take in any suggestions & critisium, since it helps

to grow and avoid repeating the mistakes again.

and i request other members too to share your thoughts, and

Kris,

Excellent tutorial... I have had absolutely NO luck trying to germinate seeds at all... but then again all I did was put them in a small pot like I would tomatoes and expect them to sprout on the windowsill. I have a ton of Roebelleni seeds that I tried to sprout several times - but nothing..

Dear Bobby  :)

thanks for your comments.even i did exactly the same as you

mentioned for palm seeds germination before becoming a

memeber in this fentastic forum.

but one advantage that i have here is the climate,so i do not use any heaters or thermal beds etc. The first floor in our house get really hot and all i have to do is put some fresh seeds into a baggie or container with moist coir dust or spanghyam moss form canada_popularly sold as DAMP-OFF ! and leave those seeds air tight in that dark hot room.every 3 weeks_bang..

some babies just pop-up !

Bobby dont give up heart_just try it again.i initally rotted

lots of seeds.since i did not know how to proceed.

now you have me to help you out, then whats the problem

buddy.let's give it a try. :)

Thanks & Love,

Dear Folks  :)

i want to bring in some correction regarding using of water

bottles ! and one respected friend in this forum_Mr.Steve

from So Cal pointed out the difficulty one will be put throught

in using mineral water bottles.but this method works for me

in india because its really hot and in just 3 to 4 months in

full sunshine the plastic bottles disintegrate or fragmatise

like a egg shell.but this will not be the case for people

living in cooler regions of the world..

So here is beautiful link on seedling pots & Containers, the useful thread was started by Mr.Sol_(nomolos).

http://palmtalk.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboar...t=ST;f=1;t=4872

here there are some of the finiest plastic containers links

avaliable_they are...

http://www.stuewe.com/

http://www.gardencityplastics.com/propagation.htm

the above two sites were introduced by _

Palmtrafficante,Nomolos & Phil..

Thanks Guys, since information without proper seedling

pots & containers will totally make this thread a useless one ! :)

And Dear Steve thanks for timely correction... :)

Kris  :)

Here in the above stills you see yellow colored powder, its

contact based fungicide based on broadspectrum.and do

not use copper or sulphur based fungicide since it can be too

hot to handle for these young ones !

here is a still of that fungicide_it has the details in them..

now as i have told you on previous occasions that take a

deep pot or container.plug the drain holes using net like

filters, small pebbles or like me coco fiber.and them fill it

with soil.here for a change i have used washed river sand

and as the layer on the top is sand mixed with coco dust,

since its hot around here so for the sake of moisture retention i have added some coco peat like material to the top soil of the pot.

but while the filling process please be gentle,if not the root

will get damaged !  :(

Now to some visuals of this bizie lady seeds placing into the deep rooting pots or containers..
