That was funny, LOL! Nice-looking palm. I have heard from some old palm experts that kaolin clay works well for people with sandy soil that want to have success with Trachycarpus, Nannorrhops, and other species that don't do well in sand. A friend has a T. martianus in S. GA that just kind of sat there and grew very slowly for years. He just laid a few kaolin bricks on top of the soil and the dang thing has taken off!

So bricks? Crushed up would probably be better?
