Mule palm (Butiarecastrum) and seeds

What is the shape of seeds from such a cross pollination (hybrids from those seeds would be f1)? Are seeds from such mature hybrids fertile and generally, whether fertile or not , do such seeds (hybrids from those seeds would be f2) have a uniform shape? Reason for those questions is that I noticed some oblong and some round seeds relating to this hybrid. I say relating because I am not aware of more details like whether they are f1 or f2 seeds.

Generally, no.

My "mules" seed abundantly, but they're mostly sterile.

But, not all.

Hard to say what the F2s do, as there have been so few.

That IS a great avatar!

The F1 Mule palm seeds we get are of all sizes. From little football shaped to fat round ones.

That's a lot of seeds! ..... Interesting that you just lay them on top of the soil to germinate.....should I be doing that with all palm seeds when community pot planting? (in general)

Like Eric, I've seen several sizes of F1s, similar to their Butia mother plant. Butia seeds seem to vary quite a bit as well though.
