I cut back a few flowering perennials in preparation for the coming rain. After nearly fives years in the ground this Jubaea is now noticeable. It seems to growing a little faster.

Thanks Peter.

I've had the Jubaea and Mew the silver Bengal for nearly eight years now. Mew is my shadow when ever I work in my garden. She is very dog like, will even play fetch.

The salvia behind will be cut right back once the flowers are finished or removed completely as there is a small bird of paradise that will take over that space eventually. Access to sunlight has never been an issue for this palm since it has been in my care. It was in a very dark corner in the nursery I bought it from almost forgotten about.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!

Are there many Jubaea in Australia? Don't remember anybody from Downunder posting these before yours. Looks healthy.

Adelaide has some great examples of the species. It isn't often planted in new suburbs but in the older neighborhoods they are more often seen. The Adelaide Botanic Gardens has a few very old specimens and in the last redesign a few juveniles have been planted.
