Here is an updated picture. It is still growing very well and has been flowering for the past 3 or 4 years. Unfortunately, it is a male and I can't find anyone with a girlfriend! I seem to have a knack for picking up rare plants that are males?? In the background are three coning Microcycas - all male!!

I am not familiar with this palm so I looked it up on Palmpedia and I quote

Description

Hermaphroditic, Solitary palm. Trunk to 40 m tall, about 40 cm in diameter breast high, leaf scars prominent, slightly oblique, irregular in width, internodes narrow................

El Oasis - beach garden, distinct wet/dry season ,year round 20-38c

Las Heliconias - jungle garden ,800m elevation,150+ inches rainfall, year round 15-28c

I've seen that too, but I don't think Palmpedia is correct with regards to hermaphroditic. I know one other person with one of these and it is also a male.

Livistona seems to be a sexually fluid genus.
