Zamia Picta

Gary -

Recommended Posts

I have one Zamia Picta, supposedly, it is the only variegated cycad in the whole cycad world...

Anyway, this seems to be a pretty rare and interesting cycad, mine does not have much variegation but does have nice big leaves. This is a male plant and coned last year.

Anybody else got one to share? Maybe with more "variegation"

Cheers, Gary.

Gary this is one of my favorite zamias. I am currently adding to my Zamia variegata bed, so I can have a dense area of these sparse leaf zamias. I have seen these growing in full Sun in south Florida, and they looked good. I keep mine in a shady area. Here are a few destined to go in the ground. Last 2 pics are a Z. variegata X Z. splendens hybrid that I have for sale in the nursery.
