Moose-

have you been drinking Kava ?

Of course I have. Seems the Triode and the Dypsis "Black Stem" have become forever linked. A reoccurrence in other threads. :o

Here is a photo of one of my Dypsis baronii 'black petiole'. I purchased several seedlings from Jeff Marcus at www.floribundapalms.com in January of 2012. They vary slightly in color tone and this one has the darkest color.

I was able only to purchase a cheap pH meter for $10 earlier today. The pH reading was 6.

My plants have been grown in my greenhouse. It's overcast today so I was not able to get a light level reading. The greenhouse has acrylic glazing with a light transmission of 84%. The GH temperature ranges from 50 to 85 F.

Currently he has D. baronii and D. baronii (Antsirabe) listed. Would this one be either of those?

I was wondering the same thing?

I was also wondering if this thread is a way to make people(read "me") get as many Baronii as possible in hopes that ONE of them is the black stem.

If it's related to or a form of D. baronii, not much chance it will make it here. Too bad. I'd have wanted to try one, assuming it isn't a myth.
