Crap, newest forecast now predicting 23 for a low this week

23 low, then 40 high, then 27 low. That is a whole lot of hours below freezing. My palms were just starting to look nice again. It is enough to make you cry, then it just makes you mad, and then it drives you mad.. I should just start growing damn conifers instead of palms.

What's at risk, Keith? Lots of your stuff should be OK at 23, shouldn't it?

Looks like it might only be for two nights, could be worse. Assume you'll be setting up protection for your newest palms.

We've had 3 nights of frost on our cars so I do understand spring can't come soon enough.

Zone 9b (formerly listed as Zone 9a); Sunset 14

Probably won't lose anything, but it'll be another year of the garden looking like crap. Things were just starting to recover from the winter from hell.

Nope, I gave up protection efforts a few years back. I do have quite a few bags of Oak leaves lying around. I will bank the trunks of the small stuff with that, blow em a kiss, and wish them well on their journey through the cold

I knew this was going to be a bad cold front when I saw that Charleston, SC is going to hit a 22 degree low, and even more so now that I see this thread. I'm going to get hit hard. It IS enough to drive you mad. We've had a pretty decent winter so far, but it was only a matter of time... Here goes nothing!
