Having to login anew each time I open PT- iPad only

JT in Japan

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I'm having an issue that only happens with my iPad (iOS 8): every time I open PT, I have to login anew. This happens even though I've never logged out from previous session, even when I've checked the "remember me" box, even when I just used PT 5 minutes earlier and set mt iPad down. It doesn't happen on my iPhone 6, nor when I use my windows-based notebook and browser. Any ideas?

Btw, I use Safari browser on my iPad, but nowhere else.

Thanks

JT

Hello mortaljp, make sure that private browsing mode is off. This would do this to me too on the ipad.In ios 8 they added the option to open individual private tabs in safari.Login into P.T. first hand and don't open any private tabs later as that will clear the memory.Hopes that helped.

As Coconut man said, it appears as if some setting on your iPad is clearing your cookies/cache after each session. Is this also happening on other forums you visit or belong to? Or on any other site that saves your password via cookies or IP?

What version of iOS are you running. Is it the same as your iPhone?

Another possibility - do you have Safari set to remember passwords? If yes, is it remembering the correct one?

Thanks to those of you who help make this a fun and friendly forum.

Coconutman and Palm mod solved my issue on the first try: I had a default setting for "private" browsing sessions. Turned that off and now I stay logged in?

Why would anyone need a setting like that? For the Internet?

Your welcomed mortaljp, private browsing mode enables users to reduce their online footprint.Passwords,History,Cookies, login information, and shopping purchases are not monitored and stored when in private mode thus increasing personal security.
