I remember your container that came off the boat from Rancho Soledad Nursery. You had a lot of nice plants from them.

Len, WOW you have a good memory. I brought that container in almost 21/4 yrs ago on a palm business trip to the big island. Unfortunately that is probably the last container you will see of the truly GIANT rare specimen's that will come out. I'm sure you know why.

Hard not to miss the plants you got that shipment. Glad you got them over here before they went where they did. :)

Sorry to derail - but in measuring, you count the length of the tallest leaf, too? Just curious if that's how palms are usually "measured."

Beautiful palm, BTW.

Jude, no derail here my friend. If you measure from the first ring of trunk to the top of the fronds this is how I came up with the height. some people Count the container as part of the height but I never do that. This is why I have my friend in the picture for scale.

Thanks Josh! I realized about the container - Who wants to pay for 2 feet of plastic :) Thanks for clarifying - When you say "first ring" do you mean, basically where the base meets the ground/soil surface?

I sell seedlings of assorted types, which obviously don't have trunks, so I just give the approx. height of the leaves, so that makes sense.

Dave, you too funny lol... :floor:

Santoury, I always measure where the base meets the soil.
