Hey All

I hope everyone had a great summer. Just wanted to show off my windmills.

I am definitely starting to enjoy my neighbors reactions about my palms.

They grew at least 2 new feet of trunk this year!! Very proud, especially after a very tough winter.

I guess im going to have some problems overwintering this year because of size. but definitely am!

There predicting another tough winter.

Good luck to all

Great results in the face of formidable odds. Hoping winter is kinder to you than the almanac predicts.

Looking awful tropical up in the Bronx nowadays. Great job.

Dude, awesome looking palms and kudos to having them up in NY. Your patio looks tropical to me. BTW, I have 2 windmills (albeit, they're smaller than yours) and no way they grew 2 feet this summer. Your windmills seem to be experiencing the zenith of their growth. Keep us updated.

The palms have southern exposure. Pretty much full sun all day! I think the patio block also help them from the harsh winters here. I build mini green houses around them in mid Dec. to keep them dry. On the really cold days (Below 20) I use flood lights pointed at the bottom of the trunk for extra heat. I never really measured the temp inside the enclosure but system seems to be working fine. I always make sure they have plenty of ventilation. The palms came out in early March with damage. I fertilize once in the spring & once in the mid summer.I pretty much water every other day. Deep water them once in a while. That is a sago under the palm. I keep it out of full sun. Robert..
