This is to inform the palm enthusiast community about our general assembly coming quite soon as from the 8th to the 10th of May at Nice with a really exiting programme! Please find attached the provisionnal agenda:

GENERAL ASSEMBLY - NICE (French Riviera ) on the 8th, 9th and 10th of MAY 2014

This is the 25 years anniversary of our French association celebrated during three days with the following exiting agenda :

Thursday 8th

Morning : Round table : « Save our palms against new pests »

Chairmen: Ruddy Benezet (fous de palmiers secretary) & Pierre-Olivier Albano (Fous de Palmier President)

· Feedback on actions proposed by our members (Etienne Trentesaux – General assembly organizer)

· Biocontrol using Nematodes (Koppert, Mrs Anne-Isabelle Lacordaire)

· Treatments by direct injection against the red palm weevil (Mr Michel Ferry, Research unit Phoenix, Elche, Spain)

· Palm protect an EU project on this topic: challenges and achievements ( ww.palmprotect.eu) (Dr Laurence Ollivier, CIRAD)

· Directives’ status – what is new? (Mr J. Androdias, FREDON-PACA, www.fredonpaca.fr )
