February 2014 stock talk

I dumped PRAN last week at 11.20 so it's a sure bet to got to 100 now.

Right before it goes back to 4!

SILC and LSCC have been running very close to PRAN in return so far in the game. But, as (bad) luck would have it, I bought only ~5% stakes in each of those at the start of the game (because nothing larger was allowed.....not sure why).

Yeah your random picks have an envious return.

BLDP, FCEL and PLUG all gave me a very valuable lesson in life along time ago. Never fall in love with a stock or an idea about a stock. Just because it seems like a great idea and world changing miracle doesn't mean it's going to happen. Look for value in a company and a product that's either already being produced or has a realistic horizon for being produced. Those 3 stocks where brutal to me.

I get what you're saying, but I picked it up after watching it a bit (after you mentioned it) right around $3. Can't complain on how its been performing so far.

They have been doing great but why? Anyway as you know these are explosive stocks, just what you like so the potential to go either way is big.

I see plug up 24% today, with this news, why is it bullish for the stock when they are going to be offering 3,902,440 Shares of Common Stock at 5.74? Am I missing something?

And other "rumors" of new contracts in the works. I'm not arguing with you and I'll be watching the ER very closely. Although, the way things are going, a decent ER (showing a reduction in their losses) will reinforce positive sentiment and send the stock higher, probably dragging BLDP with it.

......Just as long as PLUG doesn't drop from $8 to below $3 next week, I'll be happy :winkie: .

Also, OSGIQ has been gaining and this was my biggest risk and biggest loss as of late. Getting close to being back to what I paid for it. Would REALLY like to get away from this one.

I still don't get why I'd pay $8 for a stock when the company is going to sell a big pile at $5.74, but logic can be over ruled by emotions I guess.

I bet they'd cut you a deal too if you bought 4 million shares.

Are we in a casino?

I always thought it was a casino.

If that's the case, I'm gonna sue every time I lose money, and claim I was drinking. :)

PLUG, FCEL, BLDP still raging. Now I'm just looking for a reason to exit.

IMO all three of these will be a great short sooner or later, it's finding that spot that will be difficult. If I had a position in them I'd look at 15min bars and a 50 bar avg for a possible exit. Seems like a short squeeze to me. The voluem in PLUG and FCEL is enormous.

Exited Apple today as it just looks like it's entering the Microsoft go nowhere for ever stage of it's life. It's to volatile to hold just for the div and the upward potential just doesn't seem to be there unless some new product comes out thats amazing.

Given that PLUG has its ER this week, you may not have to wait long for a short opportunity. Would not be shocked to see it get to $12 before that. Plan on dumping most if not all before the ER. I feel you with Apple. Going to wait a little longer to see what they come out with.

Also watching DDD to find a spot to buy back in.
