Oh snap!!! Pete, nice dypsis and paul, loving that red. Hopefully it's the same colournext year (or better) and not brown.

Wow Pete, I like it!! Any idea as to a sp. name?

I got 2 off Bill Beattie in 2011, reputed "very slow" , they are both starting to move now, heres the "change" in spear colour a few weeks ago, now that colour makes the "ends of the new leaflets like sandpaper" In the US they call it Lemana's hows yours looking Jeff Searle, it was you n Bill that saw it and collected the seed yes?

Pete :)

Please refer to my post about the "dark mealy bug" palm. I thought I would include a pic taken today of the new spear emerging. This always excites me on this palm!! It means another new leaf in about 9 months.

This palm is spectacular from the top and the bottom!

Ok Ok, time to get some big guns out.... No holds barred..... Going for broke

Around 16 months ago I had the extreme honour and privilege of getting a great tour of the Jeff Marcus garden's of Floribunda. I'm pretty sure that anyone who has been there (even those that haven't) would agree that after Mother Nature, Jeff is the best palm grower on the planet. I had a great time and managed some great pics... Thanks Jeff!

In no particular order we have Dypsis marojejya..

Dypsis manangerensis...

Haha. Getting desperate were you? The battle was leaning to team areca/pinanga. That dypsis heteromopha is pretty good... for a dypsis. Haha

Can't ever have too many of these!

gmp,

That 'hawaiin punch' is a beauty. Is that what Jeff Marcus is selling as Neophloga sp. 'pink crownshaft'? Edit: yep.

Reasonably probable - but the one pictured is in a private garden and did not originate from Floribunda - I am not sure that the debate has been settled as to whether or not they are one in the same - gmp

I'm in awe of all of these photos! What a couple of great genera! My garden is young so I think I'm out of my league here but I shot this P. Coronata this morning. Nothing too special just a nice salmon blush on a new leaf :)

I never tire of this post. Although I have become a dypsis tragic I love my arecas and pinanga's too. I'm on the fence. Some sensational pics on here.

Was supposed to be A.caliso, but I think it's A. ipot. Doesn't matter, nice little palm. Has some big cojones for such a little guy.

Stop the fight, great work Tim ;)

Yep a few hay makers thrown from Tim there!! Dypsis are down but not out!!

I have got to agree with you on the P. Insignus Tim, I saw my first mature specimens about 2 months ago and they were certainly a very robust Pinanga!
