..Perhaps, though im thinking: Midnight BBQ.. Cajun and Southwest style, of course.. under a full moon and warm breezes while some distant T-storms skirt across the Gulf sounds about right.

Of all the memories of the beach.. here or back in CA., it was the evening I slept in my car, and greeted the sunrise there on Mexico beach after the long drive back from Homestead, heading back to Ohio. Perhaps i'll have to name one of my Plumeria seedlings after that memory. Their mom was in the car.

Well here we go again. The forecast has actually improved a bit over last night, but nothing to brag about for sure.

NOAA forecast for SE Houston:

  • Tonight Cloudy, with a low around 32. Northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Tuesday A chance of freezing rain and sleet before noon, then freezing rain and sleet likely, possibly mixed with snow. Cloudy, with a high near 34. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Tuesday Night A chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

I am in the red zone in SE Houston just below Hobby on the graphic. We will see how it goes. If the low holds at 28, I won't have a problem as even the potted Cham. Elegans on the back porch can tolerate this, with the overhead protection. Besides, I am getting old and lazy.

Sounds like some good memories.....your probably glad you moved further south...lol.

Keith, keep your darn freezing Louisiana weather to yourself...;)

Texas don't look so great.....guess a light snow would be better than freezing rain then a hard freeze once everything is wet.

Good luck everyone.
