Everybody in California & Florida know about how slight changes in elevation & location can mean life or death especially after this winter, but the same applies for us out in the arctic.

Check out the temperature spread in Cincinnati right now at 11:15pm

CVG: 9*F (official)

Luken Airport: 13*F

Lebanon: 2*F

Hamilton: -2*F

Downtown: 17*F

Mt. Adams: 17.7*F (my apartment)

Cincinnati, Ohio USA & Mindo, Ecuador

Looks like you're in the banana belt of the Cincy area...

I remember reading the introduction to a book on microclimates several years ago, and it used Ohio as an example.  It listed the low temperatures reported at various locations within the state one day in May, and I think the range was from 20F to 65F.  I don't remember the exact range of temperatures, but I think it was comparable to the spread of low temperatures for the entire year at a location near lake Erie...
