Dypsis prestoniana

Rafael

Recommended Posts

Three divided leaves seedling, planted 2 years ago, below arch. cunninghamiana canopy, 32F low, high 30's for a week, all leaves showing burn damage. No damage on royal palm and dypsis decarii. This palm seems to be touchy at seedling stage. I will enhance the protection.

Strange, I have a dypsis prestoniana about same size as yours under a datura, 6 days of low 30's with 31.6F low on two days, no damage. Top of datura is damaged.

I find it strange too, as it went perfectly through the past winter.

Besides, euterpe edulis remains undamaged too.

I am curious about how it will behave the next days.

Planted end of November as a 25 gallon size. Saw 32f for a few hours with endless rain and some light frost. 10-20% frost damage spotting on leaves. New spear looks fine.
