Abused palms.

A few members of this board and I went to Key West for Memorial Day Weekend (Late May) for some palms and fun times. Here are a few photos of me (possibly not sober) trying to take care of some palms. First there is the double Ravenea rivularis in the classic pot, dwarfing out:

With liquid courage in my veins, I decided to try and do some doctoring work. It seems one was dead, so I tugged the spear and it fell right out! I had my medical assistants take proper care of the wound and moved onto the next victim:

This is quite the photo. It may not seem like much, but my photographer, who will remain anonymous (Kathryn) took a picture at The Bull, a clothing optional bar on Duval Street. There are signs everywhere exclaming no photography, but that does not keep fanatics like us from taking visual evidence - this Adonidia seems to be quite unhappy to say the least: (Note: I checked for naked people in the background before posting this photo.)

So instead of a naked chick in the background we get a guy with a white shirt....what a jip!  I think we just got "Crown-shafted"!

It seems like you guys were in fact crownshafted. The person taking the picture and myself did not see the dozens of "no photography signs", and for some reason no one bothered us after the picture.

The Bull's top floor is a MUST when in old town.  Did Kate do the clothing optional thing?

The problem with Adam and Eve's (clothing optional bar atop "The Bull") is that the day I was up there, I should have been drunk.  Too many of the nude patrons should keep their clothes ON.  I gave the bar tender a big tip for having to spray down some of those guys.  She deserved Hazard Pay if you ask me.  Anyway, here is photo of a Coconut that had been abused during the last hurricane season.

Land O Lakes FL, a suburb on the North Side of Tampa, FL

Summers are great, 90f/32c in the day & 70f/21c at night with plentiful rain & sun

Winters are subtropical with occasional frosts and freezes. Tropical cyclones happen.

We have a few Royal palms in the warm microclimates but Coconuts freeze.

Keith is right, there were a number of people who may have made the party better with their clothes on, but I just generally looked in the opposite direction.  :P

And Ray, Im going to have to plead the 5th on that question.

I found this little guy, not abused, hanging out in the secret garden. I hope no one tramples him!

Drunken nudity amongst the palm trees. I fail to see what is neither new or novel about those.

Hey Christian, I remember that trip and that picture. Right after I took the picture, someone mentioned that pictures weren't allowed so I put the camera away. I wasn't even thinking about the possibilities in the background.

Here is one of my favorite pictures from that trip - looking out at Key West from the top of La Concha.
