Hilo Jason 3,130 Report post Posted August 11, 2013 I am giving away this 20 gallon Dypsis Madagascariensis. The catch is that you must live in a better climate than I do. My low up (in the last 4 years of living here) until this last winter was 32, but usually in the upper 30s. This past winter I saw 28 and this palm got beat up bad. It was planted in the ground as a small 5 gallon, so it grows fast, but it just can't handle the winter here. I dug it up in April of this year, put it in this large pot and since it has pushed new growth on all 3 of the palms. There seems to be quite a bit of variety when it comes to Madagascariensis, and this is a sensitive one as I have others planted near it that do fine. So yeah, if you live somewhere in So Cal with mild winters or a magical micro-climate and you would like this palm, it's yours for free.
