HIPS sent out the Pritchardia Newsletter recently to all members (with all relevant info), but if there's ANYONE who's not a member and plans to be on the Kona side on Saturday, and would like to join us, just make a post here, and someone (me, Al in Kona or DypsisDean) will provide more info. The meeting begins at Dypsisdean's garden at 10 a.m., and after that there are a few more garden tours planned. Should be a great day! Wish all of you could be here!

HIPS (Hawaii Island Palm Society) is meeting in the Kona area on Saturday June 24, starting at 10am.  They will be touring three very different gardens and a nursery/farm.  If you should be in the area that day you are most welcome to attend.  Contact me or any of the HIPS officers for info and directions.

Here's a pic of three palms you'll see in Garrett Webb's garden (Garrett in the background).  Can you name any of them?

The HIPS (Hawaii Island Palm Society) Kona Garden Tours was held on Saturday June 24 starting at the mauka garden of Dypsisdean or Dean Ouer, above Kailua-Kona.  The second garden and Kalaoa Gardens Nursery was that of Garrett Webb and the third and last garden visited belongs to Mark Barville.  

Below are a few photos I quickly took at the three gardens just to give you a vague idea of some of what we saw.
