The only thing missing from when you said "Cycad" was

Thanks Paul for sharing the tour! I really like the a.alexandrae.

I think it'd be awesome to have an airport view like that! I'm the only person I know that likes watching air traffic.

Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the pics. I wonder if the palms mind the jet noise.

Nice pics Paul can't believe I missed this thread. Nice use of a small area and you can't beat his climate. Lived in Pt Loma for awhile you almost get used to the noise. Almost.

wayne says he's used to it.

i used to live in la mesa by grossmont center near the 8 freeway & we got used to the "white noise"from the constant traffic--kinda like the sound of the ocean.when we moved to the current house it took awhile to acclimate to the quiet!

no,it wasn't really on the grossmont summit,it was at jackson & la mesa blvd if you know where that is.

we were just renting.there was a nice king palm right next to our apt.that started me thinking that palms were cool, altho if you talk to enjula she will take ALL the credit for my palm fascination since she planted the first 2 palms in our current garden.

I consider cycads as alien plantforms disguised as palms, kind of like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". The caudex either looks like a head or a squid's beak, and those orange "circus peanuts" they cast off just don't make sense.

Not a fan.

Terry don't give up on cycads there are some really cool tropical looking ones.  Some are moretropical looking than most palms.Next time your at Jungle Music check some of the rare ones out, they only drawback is they are way more expensive than palms.
