these two pictures were shot on the fly and will need some explanation, if you look closely the JUG on top of the car has a tube, which you can see on the windshield, it runs down into the hood area, this JUG is the cars fuel tank !!!!

INGENUITY LIKE YOU CANT BELIVE!!!

I grew up in a rural area of Texas, and when I was a kid this was common practice of riding in the back of trucks. In Mexico they take it to the extreme, I missed some of the better shots where you would have and I AM NOT KIDDING 30 people packed in the back of a truck!!

but remember if your in the cab seatbelts are obligatory!!

I took these at a spot where we sometimes stop and gather different cactus.

tHIS GROUND HAS BEEN LEVELED WITH A DOZER AND A ROOT PLOW, SO FOR YOU SANCTIMONIUS KNUCKLEHEADS WHO GET DOWN ON ME FOR TAKING A FEW SAMPLES HERE AND THERE, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS MORE TIMES THAN NOT!!! SO DAMN ME FOR SNIPING A PALM,OR CACTUS BUT ITS OK WHEN THEY WHOLESALE ROOT PLOW A COUPLE HUNDRED HECTARES!!!! THE BIG LUMPS ARE MULTIHEADED DAGGERS THAT TOOK YEARS TO GROW!!!

This also happens on a grand scale by the government of mexico itself, I use the highway to Tula as an example where the giant yellow cactus in my first posts were just mowed down by the highway dept!!!

some serious refining(i think) equipment being moved by a transport crew, the counter weight on that one truck is a huge piece of quarry cut stone

the picture where we passed them, if you look at the little black speck nect to the yellow road stripe, thats my sunglasses that flopped off during my "action shot"

This "thing" is being pulled by 2 trucks

Bull horn acacia, this stuff is wicked mean and unforgiving, it also has a symbiotic ant that lives in the thorns that'll sting the doo out of you.

This is our morning hunt, the dove were really flying, we hunted off huge grain fields with a view of the sierra Bernal, absolutely stunning!!

this is piloncillo, mexican brown sugar cones, sometimes rolled in poppy seeds or mixed with nuts they squeeze the cane thru the donkey driven press, the donkey was down the road he had just finished squeezing a batch and was off for some r and r!

they boil the squeezins down in the big square tub, and then ladle the goo into the terracotta cone shaped thingys!!

I will never eat another piece of this stuff as long as I live, hygene was NOT a priority
