They are for sure archontophoenix if not cunninghamiana but i think because cunninghamiana is the toughest and easiest to find they must have put these. And of course it looks like cunninghamiana! I will get some photos as soon as possible. As for the water you might be right but because my countryhouse is a very windy area, I have spent hours studying every spieces wind resistance. Archontophoenix is one of the weakest one. Here is an alexandrae in a protected spot at my country house.

There are a couple dead away features of genuine cunninghamiana and and if only some of them are present in a specimen, then this is a hybrid. I own such a hybrid for example. Perhaps I post a pucture later today.

I doubt you will be able to find any in Greece of that size. Anyway you may give a try by Koukoutsakis nursery in Crete or order for an import  from Spain by Ioakimidis (Paradise Plants) or even better contact directly a big plant nursery in Spain, for example Eden Palm Garden.

To get an idea pictures posted by Eden Pam Garden in Facebook. But this project I can only imagin it would cost you a lot!

Looks really beautiful! Nice bulging trunk and very healthy. I love seeing more people planting royals in marginal/Mediterranean climates, I saw some beauties when I was in Lisbon and lots in Southern California, plus this one in San Jose in Northern California, which has quite similar winters to Athens, although cooler summers.

There is a baby one growing near Athens in an even more marginal climate. It has expanded so far the first leaf during current year and pushes up rapidly second one. Average temp is at least one degree less than in Voula.  All leaves of last year have brown tips but they still hold.

It's looking really good, thanks for sharing! Keep planting those royals in Mediterranean/marginal climates!
