tjwalters 322 Report post Posted May 15, 2013 ...with plenty of rooftop frost and some ground-level frost in open areas. So far I haven't noticed any damage on the tropicals that have already been moved outside, nor on any of the tropical annuals already planted.

Kailua_Krish 573 Report post Posted May 15, 2013 It was in the low 50s in Ocala I think and some areas around Gainesville reported in the 40s! Very strange for a Florida May but my Parajubaea is loving it.
JEFF IN MODESTO 409 Report post Posted May 15, 2013 33f would be unheard of here at this time of the year. We are in full summer mode with highs in the 90's and lows in the 60's. I just went outside to drink my morning coffee, was surprised how chilly it felt. Not a cloud in the sky... but a nippy 57f Jeff

Not a cloud in the sky... but a nippy 57f Jeff We are having an unusually warm Spring in California, feels like Summer, but cold spells are totally within the realm of possibility in CA this time of year. It hit 32F in May in Modesto in 1959, so it's not impossible, but very, very unusual! But we've "earned" our warm Spring this year given that the last few years Spring has been unusually cold here. tjwalters 322 Report post Posted May 19, 2013 Tom 33 f. ,would be about 0 degrees celsius!,almost frost ! Frost can form above 32°F (0°C) (sort of), and there was plenty of it on roof tops, and even some open areas of lawn were frosted. Today should be 74°F, and 86°F by Tuesday.
