So many times after a cold event, I always try and reflect back on what the various forecasts were and how things actually went.  Invariably, I can never recall with 100% certainty, or even 50% certainty.

That changes today!

As of 1045AM this morning, Ive gone to 4 major forecast sources and captured a screen shot of their forecasts for my zip code (34689).   And, I will post them here to look back on tomorrow AM as a fun sort of "game".  Seeing as how their is such a wide exapnse of predictions, lets all take guesses as to which one pans out for tonight/tomorrow morning .

The "official" arbiter of actual low temperature will be my weather station, the data for which is here---

Weather in Larry's Jungle

If I am crying in my Wheaties tomorrow , then this fun diversion might help  :P

So, here are the screen shots and the contestants.....please vote above!

The National Weather Service is BY FAR the most accurate at predicting temperatures for my location - so I'll assume the same for Florida....

Same for my yard Jack.  So, I voted NWS as well.

But, God bless the optimist who voted for the weather.com 37F forecast!

Just by clicking around the state and foreseeing forecasted temperatures, I would say that NWS has it close to the mark.  I predict 34 in my area, NWS says 32.

What about these for world weather.

From the World Meterology Org

World Weather

From the airports around the globe

Weather Pixie

Perhaps we could have a weather pixie incorporated in the forum where you see a pixie at the top of the page for about 5 cities around the world. Change the 5 cities every few weeks. Just an idea. A brilliant one too I must say.

I would have been leaning toward NWS before the freeze we had but weather.com nailed the temp each night perfectly and was the only one to do so.  For that alone I'm going with Weather.com with NWS a very close second.

Well guys....the low was just reached 4 minutes ago (38.8F) and temps are now coming up.

Accuweather was numerically closest, but they missed it high which always results in scorn and disdain.

Like the Price is Right with Bob Barker, weather.com was closest without going over!

weather.com predicts my yard down within 1 degree to the hour consistently. I'm wondering if weather.com's select by zip code dials down to a closer microclimate than the others that go by city. Because our geography is so varied here, it can be a huge difference.

NWS for me. There night temps are sometimes off in my location. Weather.com is pretty accurate on night time temps here. Overall, NWS is the best for me.

Larry,

Larry are we talking 24 hours out,12 hours out 6 hours out or 3 hours before the event?

Where is the catagory NONE of the above? :D

They all suck!!! :;):

If any of them got the low temp right 25 percent of the time, it would be a miracle! ???
