Four nights of 28-29 F No frost, no damage.  This one's about three feet tall, in the ground a couple of years.

This is a North Florida experience. I planted L. australis and L. saribus out befor the 1989 freeze. The L. australis died completely.   the L. saribus is aobut 40 feet tall...

I replanted the L. australis in mid 90's .  It  survived a fortnight of freezes with minimum of 21 F..  It is about 12 feet tall now.

25F and many hours and nights at or below freezing with many mornings with a short period of light frost. One gallon. No damage

Hot and dry in the summer, cold with light frost in the winter. Halfway between the desert and ocean

10 gallon sized plant under oak canopy withstood approximately 24 hrs below freezing with an ultimate low of 20F with very minimal damage.
