I'll have a couple of books for the "plant" auction.

Evolution and Ecology of Palms by Andrew Henderson, The New York Botanical Garden Press, 2002. Paperback. It is pretty technical, but Henderson (co-author of guides to palms of the Americas and southeast Asia) is a good writer.

Loulou: The Hawaiian Palm by Donald Hodel. University of Hawai'i Press, 2012. Hardback. Wonderful color photography and quite a lot on Hawaiian natural history and pest problems. There's a chapter on introduced palms in Hawaii, including a scary of photo of a whole swarm of Archontophoenix alexandrae (Alexandra palm, from Australia).

I may have to scrub the books--I've got a supersized runny nose and fever today, and may not be able to make it. If anyone cares to stop by my place to gather the goods, it would be appreciated.
