Hi Ya'll.  I saw a couple of threads about some damage of the palms and cycads at the Huntington but I wanted to start one that focused on the fun we had at our annual Palm Society of Southern California Banquet.

I'll start off with Bill (BS man about thorns), conquering the Phoenix dactylifera.  Bill was lookin for dates here and in the LA Xpress. :;):

It looked like a great time, and then some. I'm glad to see everyone in high spirits with all the evil cold going on over there. How many plants were for auction? Any high stakes bidding going on during it? Many nice photos of the plants and members in action. It's good to see Jack put his dancing fame on a t-shirt.

Man that was a fun day!!!  (Except for a painfully slow tour of the I-805/I-8 highway exchange. :( )

Go to that link. Its Palmarum(Ryan's) account of the Biennial, where the pic from the shirt is from and Pseudophoenix ekmanii grows.
