Welcome Dinner at Nongnooch

Walter John

Recommended Posts

There was much spectacular colour (color) and sound and elephants at the welcome dinner night at the Nong. we were greeted by trad Thai dancers and drummers and a few elephants were dressed up for the occasion so we could get our photos with them if we chose. Pretty ladies gave us leis (how do I write that?) and all. And we hadn't even gone inside the dining hall yet.

Let's go to the video

These guys greeted us on arrival as well. This would not be the first contact we would experience with pachyderms from the "Nong".

The entertainment was rousing, a real happening, what exactly was happening was anyone's guess, but it was definitely happening just the same.

Going through Colin Wilson's biennial photo collection I have stumbled across some great photos, with Col's permission I shall post a few.

From the welcoming dinner evening, here's what I consider a great partner photo, Jack and Lyndsey Sayers, one for the home album guys, slightly cropped to show the Hoagie pair. You might like the full version, worthy of a living room frame, let me know..

I'm enjoying all the photos and videos everyone is posting here on the PalmTalk Biennial Forum - it was non-stop activity with someone taking photos at all times, so nice to see photos others took while my own camera was taking a break...
