Has this ever happened to you?

Say you have a nice fruiting palm, in my case D. baronii, which has set oodles of infructescences (12 for me). Say that you bagged as many clumps of seed as you could so as not to lose any upon ripening. Say that just a couple were out of reach and could not be covered but you ingnored them. Say that these just so happened to ripen while you're at work and hundreds of seed fell...right into the leaves and cups of all the bromeliads planted beneath! The ones with the spines from hell on the leaf edges! And I'm talking filled to the brim!

It's a good thing that this is a hypothetical stiuation, because it would be really embarassing if that actually happened to you

Quite so Mathew, quite so! I was like, ya know, just throwin' that out there to get some insight in case I ever saw this happen......(whew!) face-icon-small-happy.gif

Davey m'lad, nah, this is normal time for mine but it's left me with WAY too much seed. I feel like the person going door-to-door with a basket of zucchini. (sounds of doors slamming shut). Gonna do some horse trading with 'em today but if anyone wants some they'll hafta come pick 'em up, no more mailings. Gloves? Did you say gloves??? icon_lmao.gif

All of my baronii seeds dropped to the ground right before they ripe. This happened 4 years in a row. I still have one batch on the palm. Hmmm... somehow, I have no interest to collect them.

You do know that baronii seed is 90% green when ripe, with just a skosh of yellow?

Dave, I've got my 14" tweezers but can't do 'em all at once, carpal tunnel starts to set in.
