Desmoncus sp.

Jeff in St Pete

Recommended Posts

I went for a hike in the rain forest near the Naranjo River the other day and collected some fresh Desmoncus sp. seeds. These were collected on private property with the permission of the owner. According to my Costa Rican plant books, there are four species of Desmoncus in this country so I am not sure which species these are.

Desmoncus is a climbing palm and is very spiny, so beware!

I can send out several small packets of seeds. Please PM me with your name and address.

Wow, I never thought I would get so many requests for these seeds. I received a lot of PM's and I will do my best to divide them up and send some to each of you. I can't take any more requests as the seeds are all spoken for. I will update this when the packets have been sent out.
