Snow in Malibu?

well, not quite. From the NWS.

THERE WERE ALSO SEVERAL REPORTS OF WHAT WAS THOUGHT TO BE SNOW NEAR  THE COAST (WESTWOOD...MALIBU BEACH...VENICE BEACH) BUT WAS MOST LIKELY GRAUPEL (SNOW PELLETS...SOFT HAIL). GRAUPEL IS GENERALLY  CAUSED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS. EVEN THOUGH  PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES WERE LESS THAN ONE HALF INCH OVER THE  AREA...VERY COLD AIR ALOFT (-30 DEGREES) AT 500 MB LEVEL AND PARTLY  SUNNY SKIES ACROSS THE REGION HELPED TO DESTABILIZE THE ATMOSPHERE  TODAY
