4 foot strap leaf in raised planter bed for 2 years. 27F--no damage. Was previously more sensitive and brown spotted during Winter. But this year finally started growing much more quickly. Just a more established plant, perhaps.

Seedling 10 tall overall (just starting to make hint of a trunk) in raised bed with lower 5' of palm against wall and below shade cloth, and upper 5' totally exposed... as if line was drawn at the shade cloth level, with above fronds fried and below fronds fine... 27F no frost for about 5 hours.

This comes with a reputation of being one of the least cold tolerant Syagrus. But I noticed literally no damage whatsoever. Appears quite tough..

After 29F, full sun plant in lower location got some upper leaves burned when frost sat on them for awhile. It is about 10 feet tall with a foot of wood.

1-gallon sized plant on east side of house without canopy survived 16F with protection of leaves and plastic pot. Outermost ends of all fronds burnt, but no other damage. Has begun growing again with return of summer heat.
