Rafael 406 Report post Posted November 1, 2014 Went to the mainland a week ago and took this panoramic pic The new area of this upstairs garden, expanded with the newly built retention wall, and provided with extremely clayish and rich soil, is now full of agressive weeds hiding some seedlings. Actually it is schizophylla, from the greek phyllon meaning leaf, while the phila originates from greek philos meaning friend or fond of. For example oreophila means loving mountains (places of high altitude), while picrophylla means leaves with a bitter taste. There is thousans plant names in my head and always, palm names are too exotic for my worse head.
