This plant is about 6 years old and very slow.. makes a leaf a year.  Leaves about 5' tall now and get a bit burned every year... but less each year.  However, this year 27F for 5 hours... some leaf damage, but less than expected based on last year's damage... but no frost this time.

To me the significant thing about this freeze is what did well and what didn't.  This palm is almost leaning against a large, 3 stemmed Dypsis baronii seedling about the same height.  That plant has lost every leaf- fried to almost a black color.  Yet this one has two healthy green leaves and one with some spotting... so this plant is obviously significantly hardier than Dypsis baronii.

Just repotted into a squat 10 gal a month ago. In my little greenhouse which hit 37F twice. Looks no worse, seems to be still growing.

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.

I do some experiments and learning in my garden with palms so you don't have to experience the pain! Look at my old threads to find various observations and tips!
