Have a tree I have had now in two different yards (was transplanted last year) 10' over all, with 1' clear trunk (did not transplant all that well)- finally re-established and growing new leaves.. totally unprotected during 27F cold snap (5 hours+ at this temp)... tips of all leaves burned significantly

Oops... looked at palm next day and was hurt a lot worse than I thought.. all existing leaves dead... but still hopeful.

I planted one of these things last Summer, it didn't like the planting and went into shock, I am still waiting for new leaves. Whatever leaves it's got now didn't get any damage from some low 30's we had on our hillside, but it didn't get very cold up there.

I think this is a better palm for Florida or the real hot thermal belts of inland Southern California.
