Philippe,

Beau travail !

Do you also face some drought time?

In Sri Lanka, west part (48 km from Ratnapura), we suffer since last december: no rain... wells are soon empty, rivers too!

can your palms recover after such a period?

Kindest regards

Philippe

Hello !

Merci ;-)

Yes, we have drought time normaly from december to March... During this period, we spray the garden every 2 days.... I have enough water in my lake for doing it...

Pilou,

I missed the original post of your spectacular garden. How many palms do you currently have? Would love to see recent photos. Would also like to see some IDs, particularly of the palm in picture number 9, which I have never seen before. Some Palm Talk members have mentioned being jealous of our garden in Hawaii. Well, I guess it is our turn to be jealous of yours.

The pond is great. It reminds me a garden designed by Geoffrey Bawa that I saw in a landscape book. Your should be in one too.

What is your soil like? At the 2012 biennial some friends and I did a side trip to a garden planted in a lot of clay.

Are you hiring maintenance people? My husband Mike and I would like to apply.

Hi !

Thanks for your message...

Regarding the design of my garden (or home) : I did everything by myself and it took 4 years for building the home... (http://muanglen.online.fr)

My soil is very poor : It's clay with sand :crying: and I have 4 gardeners living on my land...

I have around 2,700 palms in the garden + 1,500 in pot... Details regarding the species : http://www.palmiers.eu/

Regarding the ID on the picture 09, it's commun palm in Thailand : Livistona rotundifolia large stipe - In Thaï : ปาลม์ยะวา หรือ ชวา http://www.palmiers.eu/0288.html

  • 1 year later...

Like a silent movie :)

Nice pics, nice palms
But these palms should have names, don't they?
