For me it was a fabulous pair of very tarty shoes that I would willingly sacrifice any palm known to mankind to get my mitts on.

A bunch of rare Theobroma bicolor seedlings just starting to show their first true set of leaves... Really different from Theobroma cacao both as seedlings (my first look) and adult trees. The yellow when ripe pods stink badly (unlike the unscented cacao), but the seeds and pulp have no odor and look somewhat similar to cacao. I'm told its uses are similar to cacao, but I'll need alot more pods to find out. My 2 trees haven't fruited yet so this one was a gift from a friend. Sorry,I really should go out to the greenhouse, snap a photo of the seedlings to make my answer fit with the topic instead of rambling on...

EDIT - two photos deleted. This sub-forum is named Discussing PALM TREES etc. Stick the subject, please! And let's just stay off the topic of scantily clad individuals, be they men or women. We've been down this road before, and no need to re-visit this topic.

Without a word of a lie

from the Catcher in the Rye

I simply cannot deny

The palms that catch my eye

Firstly, let me say this to you. I have been on close observation holiday, and I do this on purpose from time to time so that I may be surprised when I do take a closer look at the palms and other plants.

I give you Euterpe edulis. It is surpassing my expectations in growth and looks. This is a stunner and whilst other palms have gone the mellow yellow appearance, this South American remains green as can be and is looking down on the nearest palms who were it's equal in height, until recently.

Here's when it caught my eye

Getting kind of stuffy in here!! Goes to show that us Florida boys know how to have a good time. Can't blame me for replying to the pic. In that pic was 3 of 4 of my favorite things in life. Only thing missing was a palm tree!!! :D
