In a protected entrance courtyard position with overhead canopy next to house where low was closer to 25F & 26F several nights with no frost (versus 24F low in open), virtually no damage.  Approximately 5.5 feet tall, two individuals planted in same planter.

Edit:  Only one or two fronds have a bit of spotting.  Currently throwing a couple new spears and beginning to flower, so this freeze did not slow this one down in the least.

Several winters outside here - long winters, but not especially cold.  6ft. high overall, with several canes, growing under evergreen tree cover.  Slight damage art -3.8C (25F) - leaf burn on youngest leaves and 1 thin cane killed.  Copes with our normal winter lows (-2C, 28F) and makes moderate growth in our comparatively cool summers.

Two consecutive nights with freezing temps and one day with snow. In detail on 1/9/17 from 0:00 am until 9:00   am constantly below zero with below -1 C from 5:30 am to 8:15 am and absolute min. of - 1.8 C from 6:20 am to 6:45 am. Max temperature same day 5.8 C at 1:10 pm. On 1/10/17 constant subzero from 0:00 am to 3:30 am with an absolute min of -0.5 C around midnight. Asolute max. on same day 7.1 pm at 10:06 pm, but snow remained on leaves from dawn to late afternoon. During cold spell dew point was always remaining below actual temperature.  Clump has an eastern exposure with partial overhead canopy. Extensive necrosis on upper parts of the tallest stems, lower parts completely intact.  In every case stems look still healthy. On the other hand two C elegans with only northern exposure remained totally unscathed.
