Two nights of 29 FF horra, under cover of C. Deodar, about three feet (1 m) tall.

No damage, so far.

Seedling in liner, on concrete patio between two buildings.  Lowest low 31, dry.  Total champ, looking completely unfazed.

21F rapped up in the open. Only 3 feet tall. I wasn't thinking when I put this one in the ground. 3 out of the 4 are dead. All about 3 feet. The other one has 80% damage and may come back.

Under the towering cedar tree, my little Euterpe stands.

Not a scratch after four days of 28-29 in the nearby exposed areas.

Several Euterpe edulis seedlings (one leaf), in 4-in pots, under cover of a Quercus agrifolia, upslope from a measurement station recording 28.1 deg. F (1/13) in Menlo Park (CA).  No damage.

We had two nights of frost/freeze 26.7 F and 28 F. Of all the marginal plants that I was monitoring, I was most impressed with this one. Also, this plant is planted in an east facing position, close to the house for protection.

The yellowing leaf on the bottom was on the plant previous to the freeze. A P. roebellini and a Archontophoenix cunninghamiana "Illawara" just a couple of feet away both had leaves leaves that browned.
