Pritchardia beccariana has been cited as a likely cool tolerant species.   Sounds good. Matty, Bret.  Hows it going now ?

Chris, I believe that my covering up of this plant spared it from immanent damage and possible death.  It's in perfect condition now and in fact I just dug it up for a move to my new house.  So we'll see how it handles transplanting too.

As mentioned before, this one saw likely 27F. Had some lower leaf burn, but quickly grew out of it.

Update on my transplanted plant mentioned above. It took the transplant with ease. It needed to adjust to a drier, sunnier spot by growing some roots but quickly threw out an entire new crown in one season and looks great. A winner of a plant.

Potted specimen in a 15 gallon. About 5 feet overall. Low of 31.5˚: Half of the palm was exposed to heavy frost and the other half wasn't. The side that was exposed to frost has about 40% leaf burn, whereas the side not exposed to frost is undamaged.
