I wanted to update this thread as the crownshaft is the fatest I have seen it.

Len, I can't help noticing that there's not allot of canopy around your B.vielladii, at least as far as I can see in the picture. How much sun dose it get?

Vince, it was planted under a large CIDP and did well under it for about three years. Then the CIDP died and was taken out. Everything under it got fried but after one growing season it was full sun hardy and has grown very fast since. Right now it gets full sun. The thing that does the most damage is the wind. :angry:

I thought this was cool. While cleaning up under my Burretiokentia vieillardii, I found seedlings. Now I have Burretiokentia vieillardii weeds :)

Zone 10a at best after 2007 AND 2013, on SW facing hill, 1 1/2 miles from coast in Oceanside, CA. 30-98 degrees, and 45-80deg. about 95% of the time.
