I was thinking Arenga sp. when I first saw it.

Not minor... that one is more like a dark metallic bluish-green color. Good guess, though.

Here is an overall photo of the palm in the guessing game photo. It is growing fast.

OK, Matty, this one should be pretty easy. The only catch is that you have to guess both species involved.

we don't have the strangler fig here so I'm not sure which Ficus it is, but I'm gonna guess S. palmetto for the palm.

Here's my latest quiz. I think it's a hard one so I'll even give you two whole pics of the palm. I didn't know what this palm was when I saw it but now that I know how to recognize it I get it every time.

Good job, Matt. Both species are FL natives. The strangler fig is Ficus aurea. Here is a photo of the entire palm.

Yeah. I have seen this picture before.

Hey, Len. You haven't seen that exact picture before because I just took it last week. But strangler figs "strangling" S. palmetto are fairly common here in south Florida.

So, any other guesses?

It was that Hydriastele that they moved. OK, fine. Lets go with Hydriastele rheophytica? :)
