About 2 years ago I transplanted an Alfredii. In the process I did significant damage to the roots. But it survived and is starting to speed back up in growth.

Today, I potted up a Madagascariensis (no windows). During the transfer almost all of the soil fell away from the rootball. It was very loose, sandy soil in the smaller pot. The roots were not really damaged. Except maybe one 5 inch piece from a root tip.

I will observe the results and report back if the specie is sensitive to this kind of transplant. In the meantime, I am curious if anyone else has blazed this trail with Madagascariensis and what the results were.

Hopefully, it is tough like Alfredii.

Great info to record. We need to get in a PRA when I get back to the OC in April.
