I think LA is ground zero in this drought  :(

Downtown : 2.47" / 0.06m

Palm Springs : 0.54  :o

Sonoran desert usually receives summer storms but they are  violent & windy. The soil can not absorp torrents w/ dry riverbeds flooding the countryside.  Followed by intense heat [110F/43.3c] that immediately sucks all the moisture from the air.

On the coastal side of the mountains, rainfall ends by late April and does not reapear until Nov.  

Can't depend on rain in California  :(
