This is a cool site showing soil temps.

Just not very accurate.

Noway Socal and norcal soil temps are even close this time of the year.

My soil temp in Modesto, ca is only 48f

July/August average 95f/63f

Dec/Jan average 55f/39f

Average lowest winter temp 27f

Record low temp 18f

Record high temp 113f
